Experience the Portland Farmers Market

Who said that living in the city means you can’t live the community market lifestyle? Fun outdoor activities like the Portland Farmers Market is great outing for the whole family. Not only will you get to interact with some hardworking farmer and creative types, but you also get to enjoy a variety of fresh produce and fun activates. By the time you leave, you’ll have enjoyed a day without the influence of big business shopping malls and super chain stores.

The Portland Farmers Market is actually a collection of markets around the area. Chances are there is one not to far from your Portland apartments doorstep, whether you know it or not. Each of these markets offers fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, bread and other assorted goods. There are a number of times and locations for farmers markets around Portland and each over’s a variety of vendors and foods.

Other Oregon Farmers Markets

The Portland Saturday Market has been around since 1974 providing the downtown Portland area with arts, crafts, food and entertainment of the most independent variety. The market runs from March to December 24th this year and is certainly an event for the whole family. Despite the name, the market is actually open on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Saturday hours are from 10am to 5pm
Sunday hours are from 11am to 4:30pm

The Saturday market is the place to find locally made arts and crafts, house wares, clothing, and jewelry as well as a variety of fresh food and packaged food. Of all the different Portland kids activities, the market can both an entertaining and educational outing, teaching kids about an alternative style of commerce where people bring the fruits of their labor to buy and sell. The Portland Saturday Market also has weekly concert performances in addition to all the vendors that will be present.

Saturdays at NE Hancock between 44th and 45th
8AM – 1PM
